An elevated case fatality rate for preexisting comorbid conditions such as cardiovascular disease (10,5%), diabetes (7,3%), chronic respiratory disease (6,3%), hypertension (6%) and cancer (5,6%) has been reported so far thus leading to an assumption of a higher mortality in Covid-19 patients with such underlying conditions.
